WILMINGTON, DE — Intel 471 announced it has partnered with the Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program, opening its global cybersecurity business to service members transitioning from military to civilian careers.
Launched in 2011, SkillBridge connects departing service members with civilian industry training, apprenticeships, and internships during their final 120 days of duty. Intel 471, a cyber threat intelligence company with nearly half of its workforce drawn from military, law enforcement, or intelligence backgrounds, said the initiative aligns closely with its mission and values.
“I spent nearly 12 years on active duty with the United States Marine Corps and am very familiar with the challenges of transitioning into the civilian workforce,” said Jason Passwaters, CEO of Intel 471. “As a veteran, this initiative is close to my heart, and Intel 471’s support as a whole reflects our company’s gratitude and commitment to give back to our U.S. service members who have given and sacrificed so much.”
Through the program, participants will gain hands-on experience in Intel 471’s intelligence department, analyzing threat actor activity and supporting both tactical and strategic projects. The company said the internships are designed to provide mentorship, training, and exposure to its intelligence-gathering practices, while reinforcing its core values of openness, inclusion, integrity, and client focus.
“Our DOD SkillBridge partnership is a win-win because it allows us to support those who have served our nation while enriching our team with their unique skills and perspectives,” Passwaters said. “We’re a mission-driven company always on the hunt for talented individuals with a humble, ‘can-do’ mindset and a passion for doing the right thing.”
Intel 471 said it views the program as a way to strengthen its talent pipeline while helping service members transition into careers in cybersecurity, a field facing growing demand for skilled professionals.
