CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — IKEA U.S. has launched IKEA House Warming, a month-long pop-up experience in New York City that highlights the retailer’s new cooking and dining products, debuts its Gustaf Westman-designed VINTERFINT collection, and celebrates both the brand’s 40th anniversary in the United States and four decades of the iconic IKEA meatball.
The House Warming, open through October 26 at Union Square, invites guests to explore IKEA’s kitchen-focused offerings through interactive spaces showcasing storage, preparation, cooking, serving, and dining solutions. Attendees can shop on-site, sample tastings, join kitchen demos, and take part in activities including a daily “(m)eatball happy hour,” a scavenger hunt for children, and design sessions in a kitchen planning studio.
“With IKEA House Warming, we wanted to go beyond showcasing our delicious food options and highlight how IKEA has a solution for every aspect of cooking and eating,” said Paul Anderson, Home Furnishing and Retail Design Leader at IKEA U.S. “We’re demonstrating how joyful and sustainable your home can be with products that are affordable, accessible, and designed to inspire life in and around the kitchen.”
As part of its celebration, IKEA will roll out more than 200 new products over the next year, including dining tables, food storage systems aimed at reducing waste, and an updated kitchen range. Among them is the limited-edition Gustaf Westman x VINTERFINT holiday collection, a 12-piece line blending sculptural design with modern interpretations of Swedish traditions.
IKEA is also commemorating the 40th anniversary of its signature meatball—over 1.4 billion are sold annually—by introducing a new falafel ball in January 2026 to expand plant-based menu options.
For customers outside New York, IKEA is offering “40 Weeks of Deals” at U.S. stores through June 2026, featuring exclusive discounts, apparel, and events. Shoppers can currently enjoy a 1985 throwback meatball plate for $2.99 through October 28.
The IKEA House Warming pop-up runs Thursday through Sunday, with extended hours for IKEA Family members on Saturdays. Admission is free.
