PHILADELPHIA, PA — The iconic Philadelphia sports and entertainment venue will officially be renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena, starting September 1, 2025, under a new agreement between Comcast Spectacor, Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), and Xfinity Mobile. The partnership, which extends through the 2030-2031 season, brings enhanced connectivity and a refreshed vision to a venue that has long stood at the heart of Philadelphia’s sports and entertainment scene.
Xfinity Mobile, launched in Philadelphia in 2017, has rapidly risen as one of the nation’s fastest-growing wireless services. The rebranded arena will spotlight Comcast’s cutting-edge technology, delivering supercharged WiFi with the WiFi PowerBoost feature. Fans will enjoy seamless connectivity from the tailgate to their seats, allowing them to share moments and stream content in real-time at no additional cost.
“Philadelphia is home to the most passionate fans in the country, and that competitive spirit is a perfect complement to the Xfinity Mobile brand,” said Steve Croney, Chief Operating Officer, Connectivity & Platforms at Comcast. He added that the collaboration underscores Xfinity Mobile’s commitment to providing unrivaled experiences through the largest and fastest WiFi network in America.
The venue, which opened in 1996, has hosted some of the region’s most legendary sports moments and world-class entertainment events. Home to the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers, NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, NLL’s Philadelphia Wings, and Villanova Men’s Basketball, the arena has also been a stage for top global musical acts, NCAA championships, political conventions, and family entertainment.
“This arena is an anchor in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex and broader region,” said Dan Hilferty, Chairman & CEO of Comcast Spectacor. “We are committed to continuing investing in our venue to ensure we’re at the forefront of technology, innovation, and cutting-edge fan experiences. We couldn’t be more excited that Xfinity Mobile’s brand will become the centerpiece for sports and entertainment in Philadelphia.”
Following a $400 million transformation completed last year, the arena has been entirely reimagined with upgraded seating, expanded amenities, advanced technology, and a focus on sustainability. Recognized as a top venue globally, it now hosts over 220 events and 2.5 million guests annually.
Tad Brown, CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers and HBSE, emphasized the collaborative vision behind this partnership, saying, “Xfinity Mobile Arena will offer fans enhanced connectivity and high-speed capabilities to maximize their in-arena experience. By focusing on new and emerging technology, Xfinity Mobile Arena will allow fans to create incredible memories at games, concerts, and live events.”
The rebranding also includes comprehensive exterior and interior signage, advertising inclusion, Official Partnerships with the Flyers and 76ers, and branded WiFi and hospitality. New signage will be revealed on September 2, 2025, marking a vibrant new chapter for the storied arena.
This partnership highlights Comcast’s deep connection to Philadelphia and its ongoing investment in the city’s sports and entertainment legacy. Over the coming years, the venue will continue to evolve as a hub for unforgettable experiences in one of America’s most passionate sports towns.
