ICYMI: Comcast Launches StreamStore to Simplify Streaming for Xfinity Customers

Comcast

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Comcast has introduced StreamStore, a new platform designed to streamline the way customers discover, manage, and pay for streaming content. Available to both Xfinity TV and Internet subscribers, StreamStore aims to simplify the increasingly fragmented streaming landscape by offering a centralized hub for content access and app subscriptions.

The new service aggregates more than 450 streaming apps and channels, alongside a library of over 200,000 movies and shows available for rent or purchase. Customers can browse and subscribe to services directly through their TVs or via Xfinity.com, while consolidating billing into a single monthly payment.

“We believe that technology should work for you — not the other way around,” said Jon Gieselman, Chief Growth Officer for Connectivity & Platforms at Comcast. “Xfinity StreamStore is taking the complexity out of finding the content you love and putting the power back in the hands of our customers.”

One of the key features of StreamStore is its curated discovery experience, which helps users find new content quickly without endless scrolling. Customers can also bundle services to save money, with options like the StreamSaver package — which includes Apple TV+, Netflix (with ads), and Peacock for $15 per month.

StreamStore builds on Xfinity’s infrastructure, integrating with the company’s high-speed WiFi network and multi-gig internet service. According to Comcast, more than 70% of internet traffic today comes from streaming, largely driven by live sports and on-demand video. Xfinity customers also benefit from WiFi PowerBoost, which provides mobile users with speeds up to 1 gig at home and through millions of nationwide hotspots.

Comcast says it plans to expand StreamStore later this year, adding new bundles, more à la carte apps, and enhanced subscription management across devices.

With StreamStore, Comcast is betting that convenience and consolidation will win over customers increasingly frustrated by the growing number of streaming services and fragmented viewing options.
