HR Power Shift: O’Connor Group Names New President to Drive Its Next Chapter

Business News

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The O’Connor Group, a fast-growing human resources outsourcing and recruitment firm, has tapped longtime executive Meghan Popoleo as its new president, marking a major leadership shift as the company pushes into its next phase of expansion.

Founder Marcia Zaruba O’Connor, who launched the firm in 2007, will continue as chief executive officer, focusing on building new growth platforms, expanding community impact and developing affiliated companies aligned with the company’s mission.

Popoleo, who most recently served as vice president of growth, has spent more than a decade inside The O’Connor Group, rising through the ranks while shaping its sales, marketing and client engagement strategy. The firm said her leadership has helped position human capital as a central driver of business performance across the industries it serves, including life sciences, manufacturing and professional services.

“I have been very fortunate to be on board with The O’Connor Group for the past decade, as we’ve advanced with the market to provide more comprehensive outsourced HR services and specialize in the unique demands of industries including life sciences, manufacturing, and professional services,” Popoleo said. “Marcia has been a true visionary from day one, recognizing the distinct need for companies to access robust but flexible HR and recruiting services that seamlessly integrate with their operations. We’re excited to see where this next chapter takes The O’Connor Group.”

Before joining the firm, Popoleo built experience in nonprofit organizations and private equity-backed life science startups, giving her a cross-sector view of how organizations grow, recruit and retain talent. The O’Connor Group said that background has informed the programs she has rolled out to strengthen workplace culture, collaboration and measurable performance for clients.

O’Connor said Popoleo’s appointment reflects both her track record and her ability to anticipate where the market is heading.

“As The O’Connor Group has evolved to support the changing needs of our clients, Meghan has been right there, anticipating the challenges of today’s businesses and driving our growth to ensure we’re a step ahead of the competition,” O’Connor said. “Not only has Meghan amassed extensive hands-on experience and earned industry credibility, but she sees things differently and offers a fresh perspective. Under Meghan’s leadership, The O’Connor Group will excel in new and innovative ways.”

As CEO, O’Connor will concentrate on developing new service offerings and affiliated companies while also expanding her influence through speaking engagements, board service and her leadership of Shadow Her, a nonprofit she founded to equip women entrepreneurs with skills and resources to grow their businesses.

Popoleo holds a bachelor of science degree from James Madison University and is deeply involved in the region’s nonprofit and business community. She serves on the boards of the Women’s Resource Center and Shadow Her, is a member of the Forum of Executive Women, and previously served on the board of Philadelphia’s chapter of Women in Bio. She also has a long-standing role with Bringing Hope Home, a nonprofit that provides financial and emotional support to families battling cancer.

The leadership transition, the company said, positions The O’Connor Group to sharpen its focus on talent strategy, employee engagement and flexible HR solutions as employers navigate a fast-changing labor market.
