BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will begin bridge construction on Newportville Road in Bristol and Bensalem townships on Monday, June 30. The road will be closed and detoured around the clock for one month to accommodate the work.

The closure, scheduled to last until Thursday, July 31, will affect Newportville Road between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road. Local access will be maintained, but drivers traveling through the area will need to follow a detour route via Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road.

PennDOT has advised motorists to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling near the construction zone, warning that traffic delays and congestion are likely. The completion of the scheduled work is contingent upon favorable weather conditions.
