WILMINGTON, DE — HOPE Therapeutics, Inc., a subsidiary of NRx Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: NRXP), has completed its acquisition of Dura Medical, expanding its footprint in Florida with a focus on advanced mental health treatments.
Founded in 2018, Dura Medical operates clinics in Naples and Fort Myers that specialize in treating depression, PTSD, chronic pain, and related conditions. The practice uses a range of interventional psychiatry methods, including Ketamine Infusion Therapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Spravato®, Stellate Ganglion Blocks, as well as traditional psychiatry and therapy. The company is profitable and expected to bolster HOPE’s network as it continues to grow.
Dura’s programs are notable for their role in veteran care. Through its participation in the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network, Dura ensures access to interventional psychiatry services and Traumatic Incident Reduction Therapy for military veterans. The need is urgent—federal data shows that an average of 22 veterans and active-duty personnel die each day by suicide.
Stephen Durand, a U.S. Army veteran and founder of Dura, has been appointed Director of Florida Clinic Operations for HOPE as part of the deal. “Dura Medical was founded with the mission to reduce suicide in our community and we aim to treat more than 10,000 people by 2026. Combining with HOPE is a tremendous step toward achieving this goal,” Durand said.
HOPE’s leadership praised Durand’s approach, highlighting his integration of psychedelic medications with TMS and other neuroplasticity-based therapies. Co-CEOs Jonathan Javitt and Matthew Duffy said his background as a veteran and clinician strengthens HOPE’s commitment to both civilian and military patients.
With Dura now under its umbrella, HOPE Therapeutics is positioning itself to build a comprehensive network of behavioral health clinics in Florida, alongside its pending acquisitions of Neurospa TMS and Cohen and Associates.
