KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Washington Memorial Chapel Veterans Commission has announced that it is hosting a Patriot Day 9/11 PT Challenge on Saturday, September 13 at 8 AM on the Washington Memorial Chapel grounds in Valley Forge, PA, in honor of local fallen hero Staff Sergeant Marc Small and all Veterans of the Global War on Terror.
The event, which will combine physical fitness with remembrance, will give participants (ages 16+) the opportunity to honor the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of America’s service members. The three-round challenge will allow contestants to sweat with purpose by attempting the following:
- Row 1,000 meters
- 50 Burpees
- 50 Box Jumps
- Run 800 meters
(Three Rounds Each)
Every rep and every stride is a tribute to SSG Marc Small and all Veterans of the Global War on Terror. Unite in remembrance, challenge yourself, and sweat for something bigger than yourself.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Marc Small, 29, of Collegeville, PA, was killed in action in Afghanistan on February 12, 2009, while serving with the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne).
