DOUGLASSVILLE, PA — The Hoist Up! Outreach Committee, in collaboration with ACECO volunteers and the United Way of Berks County, has provided 250 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students, ensuring children across the region start the academic year prepared.
The donated backpacks were distributed through several community organizations and schools, including Stony Creek Elementary, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Lorane Elementary, Lauer’s Park Elementary, Reading YMCA, and Keystone Military Families. The initiative is designed to remove barriers for students by equipping them with essential materials from day one.
The effort relied heavily on volunteer support. ACECO employees committed their time to assembling and distributing the backpacks, highlighting the impact of corporate and community collaboration.
“We are proud to support our community and empower our students,” said Stephanie Delibertis, Owner and Executive Director of Outreach & Development at ACECO. “This event is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together with a common purpose.”
Organizers described the project as both practical and symbolic, reinforcing the role of local partnerships in strengthening educational opportunities. The Hoist Up! Outreach Committee expressed appreciation to the volunteers who made the effort possible and pledged to continue initiatives that support families and children in Berks County.
