High-Speed Motorcycle Crash Claims Life In Wilmington Three-Vehicle Collision

Fatal Crash Location

WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that shut down a section of South Maryland Avenue Tuesday evening and left one man dead.

Troopers said the crash occurred on February 3, 2026, at approximately 8:20 p.m. on South Maryland Avenue near Reamer Avenue. According to investigators, a Toyota Tacoma was stopped in the left eastbound lane of South Maryland Avenue while waiting to turn left onto Reamer Avenue. At the same time, a Dodge Ram was stopped at the stop sign on southbound Reamer Avenue.

Police allege that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound in the left lane of South Maryland Avenue toward Reamer Avenue at an apparent high rate of speed when the Toyota began its left turn. Investigators said the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Toyota, causing the Tacoma to spin and collide with the front of the Dodge.
