MOUNT JOY TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced daytime lane restrictions on Route 283 in Lancaster County this week to accommodate scheduled inspections of two bridges in Mount Joy Township. These inspections, originally planned for last week, were delayed due to rain.
Weather permitting, inspections will take place on the Elizabethtown Road bridge on Wednesday, June 25, and the Snyder Road bridge on Friday, June 27. During these operations, Route 283 will have alternating right and left lane closures in both directions between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
The Elizabethtown Road bridge spans the highway between Hershey Road and Cloverleaf Road, while the Snyder Road bridge is located between Cloverleaf Road and Route 772.
Motorists traveling in the area are advised to remain alert and cautious, obey all work zone signage, and follow posted speed limits to ensure safety for themselves and road crews.
PennDOT encourages drivers to plan accordingly to avoid delays and to use extra care when navigating through work zones.
