HAYCOCK TWP, PA — Drivers in northern Bucks County should prepare for a long-term road closure beginning Monday, March 9, as PennDOT starts work to replace the bridge carrying Stony Garden Road over Dimple Creek.

Stony Garden Road will be closed around the clock between Roundhouse Road and Reed Lane through Monday, June 1. The closure is required to remove and replace the nearly 90-year-old single-span bridge.

During the shutdown, drivers will be directed to use Deerwood Lane, Route 563 (Mountain View Drive), and Route 412 (Durham Lane). Motorists should follow posted detour signs and expect longer travel times, especially during peak commuting hours.

Local access will be maintained throughout the project, but through traffic must use the designated detour routes. Plan extra time and seek alternate routes if possible to avoid congestion in the area.

The bridge will be replaced with a new box culvert structure designed to maintain existing lane widths while widening shoulders by more than a foot. The project is part of a broader $2.7 million effort to replace or rehabilitate several bridges in Bucks and Montgomery counties.
