PHILADELPHIA, PAGuestCounts Hospitality, the group behind Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar, and Bomba ¡Tacos + Tequila!, has announced it raised more than $25,000 in support of CORE, a national nonprofit that aids food and beverage employees and their families during times of personal hardship.

Throughout June, guests at all GuestCounts locations were invited to contribute to the fundraiser by making direct donations, purchasing a $5 “Shot of Hope,” or buying a special $10 gift card for just $5, with every dollar going directly to CORE. In total, the monthlong campaign generated $25,130.16.

CORE, or Children of Restaurant Employees, provides financial grants to food and beverage industry workers and their families when they face medical emergencies, injuries, loss of life, or natural disasters. The grants cover critical expenses such as rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, medical costs, childcare, funeral expenses, and other essential needs.

Barry Gutin, principal and co-founder of GuestCounts Hospitality and a member of CORE’s board, expressed deep gratitude for the community’s support. “We were able to raise this tremendous donation thanks to the generosity of our guests and the enthusiasm of our team,” Gutin said. He also encouraged others in the industry to participate in CORE’s upcoming “Serving Up Hope” campaign, which will run from September 1 through October 31.

The recent success highlights GuestCounts Hospitality’s ongoing effort to support industry workers beyond the walls of its restaurants. As the broader hospitality industry continues to face challenges, initiatives like this highlight the vital role community support can play in helping employees navigate crises and safeguard their families’ well-being.
