HORSHAM, PA — Grupo Bimbo has opened registration for the 10th edition of its Bimbo Global Race, a worldwide event that blends community engagement, physical activity, and hunger relief. Scheduled for September 28 in-person and September 22–28 virtually, the race is expected to draw over 150,000 participants across 30 cities in 23 countries.
The event, now marking a decade, has become the world’s largest cause-driven race. For every in-person registration, 20 slices of bread will be donated to food banks, while each virtual registration will trigger a two-slice donation. The company has set an ambitious target of distributing three million slices of bread globally.
Running under the slogan “The Good We Share,” the campaign underscores Grupo Bimbo’s commitment to its broader mission of “Nourishing a Better World.” According to Alberto Levy, Global Marketing VP, the race has become a platform for people of all ages and fitness levels to participate in something meaningful. “Your participation helps provide bread to those who need it most,” Levy said. “That’s what truly makes this event special.”
A Global Movement Rooted in Local Impact
The race will be hosted in cities across North and South America, Europe, and Asia. U.S. participants can join the event in Los Angeles, choosing between 5K and 10K distances designed for both runners and walkers. The race is family-friendly and encourages a healthy lifestyle through community participation.
Cities hosting in-person events include major urban centers such as Toronto, São Paulo, Barcelona, Delhi, Beijing, and Mexico City, among others. The anniversary celebration will culminate in Mexico City, which will honor past race winners and serve as the symbolic hub of the event.
To commemorate the 10-year milestone, the official race t-shirt design pays tribute to Mexico City’s cultural legacy and the program’s sustained impact on communities worldwide.
Corporate Purpose Meets Global Philanthropy
The Bimbo Global Race serves as a high-profile extension of Grupo Bimbo’s corporate values, aligning brand engagement with social responsibility. As hunger continues to affect millions globally, the initiative turns participation into practical assistance—bridging the gap between corporate mission and consumer action.
With over a hundred thousand participants already expected and broad international reach, the 2025 edition aims to build on the legacy of a race that’s as much about giving back as it is about crossing the finish line.
