Gladstone Group Launches Affordable M&A Platform for Smaller RIA Firms

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PAGladstone Group has unveiled Gladstone Connect, a new M&A platform aimed at making high-quality dealmaking services more accessible to smaller registered investment advisor (RIA) firms. Designed to streamline and simplify the transaction process, the service lowers the financial and operational barriers that have historically sidelined smaller practices from participating in the industry’s consolidation wave.

While the RIA sector has seen record M&A activity in recent years, many smaller firms have found themselves priced out of traditional advisory services. Gladstone Connect offers a new pathway: for a flat $500 fee, sellers can confidentially list their firms and gain exposure to a network of highly vetted buyers. If more comprehensive investment banking services are needed, the initial fee is applied toward those costs.

“At a time when approximately 100,000 financial advisors are starting to sunset their practices, the industry requires a systematized and streamlined process particularly for smaller firms,” said Dan Kreuter, Founder and CEO of Gladstone Group. “We built a solution for that problem and are pleased with the feedback on Gladstone Connect thus far.”

The platform combines Gladstone’s two decades of M&A experience with a secure digital interface that protects seller anonymity while accelerating the match-making process. Sellers complete an onboarding process via a fact finder tool, are paired with qualified buyers, and are supported throughout the transaction by a dedicated deal concierge. Notably, buyers are responsible for closing costs, making the service even more attractive to sellers.

The initiative targets an underserved segment of the RIA market—firms that fall below the size thresholds typically favored by traditional M&A advisors. “The industry needed an accessible pathway for firms who are selling and would fall below the traditional M&A thresholds to keep our ecosystem going as well as to help these advisors achieve their goals,” said Mike Spatacco, Gladstone’s Director of Corporate Development. “Gladstone Connect has created the efficient frontier to make this happen.”

With a growing pipeline of independent advisors approaching retirement and demand for acquisitions continuing to surge, Gladstone Connect arrives at a pivotal moment for the financial services industry. By removing longstanding obstacles, the platform may help reshape how smaller firms transition ownership and unlock value in the years ahead.
