NORTH EAST, MD — Cecil College is opening its doors to the community for an inside look at the next generation of scientific problem-solvers. The Fall 2025 STEM Poster Showcase, set for Friday, December 5, from 3 to 5 p.m., will highlight the work of students exploring real-world challenges through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The free event will be held in the second-floor lobby of the Engineering and Math Building on the North East Campus.
For more than four decades, Cecil College has made STEM education a cornerstone of its mission, providing students with the tools to innovate and apply research in professional settings. The bi-annual showcase offers a conference-style environment where students present research posters detailing their hypotheses, methodologies, and results to peers, faculty, and visitors.
Projects will cover a broad range of disciplines — including biology, chemistry, bioproduction, and engineering — reflecting months of hands-on experimentation and collaboration. College officials emphasized that events like the showcase help bridge classroom learning with real-world application, giving students valuable experience communicating their work to wider audiences.
Cecil College’s STEM programs prepare graduates for diverse careers, offering degree and certificate options designed for both traditional students and working professionals seeking to expand their skills. The college’s “credential stacking” approach allows learners to build qualifications progressively as they advance in their fields.
The public is encouraged to attend the Fall 2025 STEM Poster Showcase to meet the student researchers and experience the innovative energy shaping Cecil College’s classrooms.
