LANCASTER, PA — Fulton Bank, a subsidiary of Fulton Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: FULT), has named Gordon Roder as treasurer, placing a seasoned financial strategist in a pivotal role as the bank navigates growth, market volatility, and shifting interest rate dynamics.
Roder will oversee corporate treasury and asset-liability operations, with responsibility for managing market and liquidity risks while helping guide the bank’s long-term financial strategy. His remit includes leading asset-liability management, directing balance sheet initiatives, managing interest rate risk and hedging activity, and contributing to capital planning and broader strategic decisions.
Curt Myers, chairman and chief executive officer of Fulton Bank, said the appointment comes at a time of transformation for the institution, as it continues to adapt to evolving economic and regulatory conditions. Chief Financial Officer Rick Kraemer said Roder’s background positions him to play a central role in shaping the bank’s financial direction and sustaining strong performance.
Roder brings more than two decades of experience spanning investment management, balance sheet strategy, and enterprise risk oversight. Prior to joining Fulton Bank, he held senior leadership roles at Third Federal Savings & Loan Inc., Flagstar Bank, and ABN AMRO. Across those positions, he managed multi-billion-dollar portfolios and led strategic initiatives touching treasury operations, lending platforms, and corporate development.
His academic background includes an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles Anderson School of Management and a master’s degree in liberal arts with a concentration in finance from Harvard Extension School.
The appointment strengthens Fulton Bank’s executive bench at a time when banks face heightened scrutiny over liquidity, capital discipline, and interest rate exposure, making treasury leadership a critical lever for stability and growth.
