Fulton Bank Awards STEM Scholarships to Two High School Graduates

LANCASTER, PAFulton Bank, N.A., a subsidiary of Fulton Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: FULT), has awarded $2,000 scholarships to two recent high school graduates pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The scholarships, funded by Fulton’s Women in Technology Employee Resource Group, are intended to encourage students within the bank’s service area to pursue higher education in STEM fields.

Recognizing the Recipients
  • Jessica Canedo, a graduate of Riverside High School in New Jersey, will attend Saint Joseph’s University to study biochemistry.
  • Camie Nguyen, a graduate of Havre de Grace High School in Maryland, will attend the University of Maryland, focusing on chemistry and pre-pharmacy.

Kelly Salvato, information technology project manager and chair of the Women in Technology group, said the scholarships reflect the group’s mission to foster diversity and education in technology fields. “Fulton Bank is honored to recognize and support these driven individuals as they pursue their passion for education in the STEM field,” she said. “The mission of our group is to engage a diverse network of professionals to inspire, educate and connect both the IT and business sides of technology.”

Scholarship Criteria

To qualify, applicants had to be high school seniors residing within Fulton Bank’s footprint, accepted into a two- or four-year undergraduate program, and planning to major in a STEM-related field.

The Women in Technology Employee Resource Group, which raised the funds for the scholarships, is open to all Fulton employees. The initiative reflects the bank’s broader efforts to invest in education and workforce development while supporting greater inclusion in technical careers.
