BRYN MAWR, PA — Families across the Main Line will have a chance to secure free preventive dental care next month when Harcum College opens its campus clinic for an annual Sealant Day focused on protecting children’s oral health.

The public event is scheduled for Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Harcum College Dental Clinic, 750 Montgomery Avenue, and is aimed especially at children ages 6 to 12. Services will be provided at no cost and include cavity-preventing sealants, oral exams, fluoride treatments, and education on daily oral hygiene.

College officials said the program is designed to address preventable dental decay, which remains one of the most common chronic health issues among children.

“Sealants can prevent up to 80% of cavities for up to two years, making them a powerful tool in reducing dental decay, particularly in children,” said Dossie Cavallucci, Harcum’s dental hygiene program director. She said offering the services for free removes a major barrier for families while introducing them to preventive care that can have lasting benefits.

Appointments are one hour long and will be offered between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Families can schedule appointments online, by calling 610-526-6015, or by emailing dentalclinic@harcum.edu.

Harcum dental hygiene students, supervised by licensed faculty, will assist in providing care as part of their clinical training. Student Luryin Schenker said the event allows future dental professionals to serve the community while gaining hands-on experience.

“We help protect their smiles and promote better oral health,” Schenker said. “It’s a meaningful way to make a positive impact.”

Sealants are thin protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of teeth, where decay most often begins. Dental professionals say the treatment is quick, painless, and highly effective at blocking bacteria and plaque.

Sealant Day is part of Harcum College’s broader commitment to community health outreach and preventive care education. More information about the Dental Clinic and its services is available at https://www.harcum.edu/dentalclinic.
