CHICAGO, IL & PHILADELPHIA, PA — Onbe has named veteran finance executive Kevin Ryan as its new chief financial officer, placing a proven dealmaker and growth strategist at the center of its next phase of expansion.
Ryan will report to Onbe Chief Executive Officer Bala Janakiraman and oversee the company’s financial planning and analysis, accounting, and treasury functions, taking responsibility for shaping enterprise-wide financial strategy as the company accelerates execution of its long-term vision.
“Kevin joins Onbe at a defining moment for the company, as more businesses look to modernize and streamline their disbursement strategies,” Janakiraman said. “His deep experience driving transformation for financial services and fintech organizations will be invaluable as we enter our next era of growth.”
Ryan brings more than 24 years of financial leadership across high-growth, transaction-driven businesses. He joins Onbe from World Investment Advisors, formerly Pensionmark, where he served as chief financial officer. Before that, he was CFO of Xactus, a fintech company specializing in verification solutions for the mortgage and financial services industries, where he led the integration of seven acquisitions, implemented a data warehouse to improve decision-making, and drove EBITDA growth during a turbulent mortgage market.
Earlier in his career, Ryan served as both chief financial officer and chief executive officer at Keane, now part of Sovos, where he guided the strategic expansion of the firm’s unclaimed property compliance platform. That growth strengthened Keane’s market position and contributed to its eventual sale in 2021.
“Onbe is redefining the future of payouts, and I’m excited to be part of what they are building,” Ryan said. “I’m looking forward to applying my experience to continue strengthening the organization’s foundation and driving growth as fintech and payments evolve.”
Onbe’s leadership said Ryan’s background in financial transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and operational improvement makes him a key hire as the company positions itself to capture rising demand for faster, more flexible digital disbursement solutions across industries.
