February Roadwork to Snarl Key Bucks County Corridors

Traffic Advisory

MIDDLETOWN TWP, PA — PennDOT is warning drivers to brace for weeks of daytime disruptions as construction activity intensifies along Langhorne-Yardley Road and Woodbourne Road under a $10.9 million effort to ease congestion and improve safety at two of the area’s most heavily traveled intersections.

From Monday, February 2, through Friday, February 27, periodic weekday lane closures with flagging will be in place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Langhorne-Yardley Road between Bridgetown Pike and Briggs Road. Similar restrictions will occur during the same hours on Woodbourne Road between Kilburn Road and the entrance to Core Creek Park.

PennDOT said motorists should expect backups and delays throughout the work zones and allow extra travel time when passing through the area. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

The February work is part of a broader project aimed at untangling long-standing traffic bottlenecks and reducing crash risks. Under the contract, PennDOT’s contractor has already completed a new single-lane roundabout at Langhorne-Yardley Road and Bridgetown Pike, which reopened Friday, August 15, 2025. Additional completed work includes roadway realignment, upgraded traffic signals, stormwater management, ADA-compliant curb ramps, new signage and lighting, resurfacing, and improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Construction will continue through early 2026. Planned improvements include realigning the northern leg of Woodbourne Road, building auxiliary turn lanes on all four approaches, and widening the eastern leg of Woodbourne Road to add a left-turn lane on Langhorne-Yardley Road approaching Erica Drive.
