EPHRATA, PA — Job seekers looking for stable pay, federal benefits, and long-term career opportunities will have a chance to explore positions with the United States Postal Service during an upcoming job fair at the Ephrata Post Office.
The event, scheduled for Friday, March 13, will connect Lancaster County residents with hiring representatives who can explain available positions, answer questions about pay and benefits, and guide applicants through the hiring process.
While many people associate the Postal Service primarily with mail carriers and retail clerks, the organization actually offers more than 2,000 different career paths across a wide range of fields. Those roles include opportunities in information technology, logistics, marketing, communications, human resources, finance, infrastructure, and law enforcement positions within the Postal Inspection Service and Postal Police.
The Ephrata Post Office is currently looking to fill several immediate openings, including City Carrier Associates (CCA), Personnel Support Employees (PSE), and Rural Carrier Associates (RCA).
During the job fair, USPS representatives will be available on-site to provide details about job duties, starting pay, schedules, and federal employee benefits. According to the Postal Service, applicants are often drawn to the agency for its financial stability, paid leave, healthcare coverage, and retirement benefits.
Postal careers also include a unique retirement structure that combines three income sources: a Postal Service pension annuity, Social Security benefits, and the Thrift Savings Plan, a federal retirement savings program.
To qualify for these roles, applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to pass both a background investigation and drug screening. Many positions also require employees to work weekends and holidays.
