PHILADELPHIA, PA — Eisenhower Fellowships (EF) has announced the selection of nine dynamic young American leaders to participate in its highly esteemed 2025 USA Program. The Fellows, representing a broad spectrum of professional fields such as public policy, education, health care, civic engagement, and technology, will take part in five weeks of intensive international travel this fall.
The program is designed to foster dialogue and cross-cultural exchange, enabling Fellows to engage with international experts and peers. The experience aims to inspire innovative ideas, spark collaborative partnerships, and support impactful projects the participants will implement upon their return to the United States.
The 2025 Fellows are pursuing groundbreaking initiatives across the country. Their work includes developing school-based health programs, advancing hands-on STEM education outreach to underserved students, ensuring AI safety, fostering economic development, and creating public space programming that connects communities to civic history.
“In a time of global tension and uncertainty, we are proud to send these outstanding young Americans overseas for fruitful people-to-people exchanges that will strengthen ties between future leaders of our countries,” said Dr. Robert M. Gates, chairman of Eisenhower Fellowships and former U.S. Secretary of Defense.
This year’s Fellows include Kam Buckner (Illinois General Assembly), Sirisha Kuchimanchi (Sahita Technologies), Ryan McClure (Gateway Arch Park Foundation), Gabriel McCormick (Public Schools of Brookline), Kendra McDow (School District of Philadelphia), Elizabeth Pishny (Google), Kenneth Smith (Blue Origin), Daniela Velázquez (City of St. Louis), and Bryan Weisbard (DoorDash).
Founded in 1953, EF continues its legacy of promoting peace, prosperity, and justice through international understanding. By empowering leaders from a diverse range of disciplines to exchange ideas and collaborate globally, the organization upholds its mission to build stronger, more connected communities around the world.
