HATFIELD, PA — EFC Gases & Advanced Materials has been awarded a prestigious five-year contract by NASA to support its xenon gas reprocessing needs. The contract, valued at up to $5 million, will involve EFC handling, shipping, and processing approximately 500,000 liters of recovered xenon gas mixtures used in cutting-edge space and propulsion research.
The partnership underscores NASA’s focus on sustainable and cost-effective use of rare resources critical for space exploration. EFC will leverage its Rare Gas Center of Excellence™, a specialized facility based in Hatfield, PA, to ensure the program meets the stringent quality and precision standards required for aerospace applications. The center, which specializes in the purification and recycling of noble gases like xenon and krypton, integrates proprietary technologies and advanced analytical systems to deliver unmatched quality.
“Winning this contract is a testament to our team’s technical excellence, reliability, and commitment to advancing sustainable solutions in rare gas purification,” said Pavel Perlov, CEO of EFC Gases & Advanced Materials. “We are honored to support NASA’s mission and contribute to the reusability and cost-efficiency of critical noble gas resources.”
This collaboration aligns with EFC’s broader mission of delivering sustainable, high-precision gas reprocessing solutions for industries that demand excellence, including aerospace and semiconductors. By enabling the reuse of vital materials, this partnership highlights the growing emphasis on sustainability within space research and technology development.
The NASA contract further solidifies EFC’s position as a leader in rare gas recovery and reprocessing, paving the way for future innovation in both space exploration and environmentally conscious resource management.
