WILMINGTON, DE — EnterpriseDB (EDB) released new independent research showing its Postgres AI platform delivers significant cost savings and reduced complexity for enterprises seeking sovereign, production-ready AI solutions. The findings come from benchmark studies by Everest Group and McKnight Consulting Group, highlighting that EDB’s platform enables faster deployment of generative and agentic AI applications while lowering total cost of ownership (TCO) by up to 51%.

As organizations face mounting pressure to adopt AI at scale, EDB’s research suggests that more than 90% of large enterprises globally expect to operate their own sovereign AI and data platforms within three years. Yet only 13% have successfully achieved that today. EDB aims to close that gap with Postgres AI—a platform designed to eliminate the need for complex, piecemeal infrastructure and give companies full control over their data and AI workflows.

The McKnight study found that EDB Postgres AI accelerates deployment of applications like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) by delivering production readiness three times faster than traditional do-it-yourself (DIY) cloud builds. That speed, along with automation and pre-integrated components, compresses development time from 28 weeks to just nine.

Meanwhile, Everest Group reported that EDB’s platform reduces development and operational complexity by more than 55%, including a 96% drop in engineering effort and a 60% decline in deployment complexity. The platform also eliminates more than 90% of the steps required during AI development.

These efficiency gains translate into major cost advantages. Both research firms reported long-term TCO reductions of approximately 50% compared to cloud-native, build-your-own solutions. Contributing factors include reduced infrastructure and licensing needs, lower personnel costs, and simplified hybrid environment management.

With rising demand for compliance and data sovereignty—especially in regulated industries—EDB positions Postgres AI as a unified platform for transactional, analytical, and AI workloads. It supports hybrid deployments, full-stack observability, and embedded features like vector search, automatic embedding, and low-code agent development, without vendor lock-in.

As AI adoption accelerates across industries, EDB is betting that enterprises will prioritize platforms that combine speed, cost control, and sovereign data management. Backed by these latest benchmark results, Postgres AI aims to offer a ready-to-scale solution for organizations moving from pilot projects to production-grade AI systems.
