PHILADELPHIA, PA — Echo Financial announced a strategic expansion of its advisory platform into higher education with the addition of a six-member higher education and not-for-profit advisory team, broadening the firm’s reach among mission-driven institutions nationwide.
Founded in 2007, Echo has built its business advising not-for-profit healthcare systems on financial strategy, capital planning, and complex capital markets decisions. The move into higher education leverages that experience, as colleges and universities face similarly capital-intensive operations, long-term planning horizons, and governance structures. The expansion also positions Echo to advise organizations operating at the intersection of healthcare and education, including academic medical centers.
The newly added team joins Echo from Janney Montgomery Scott and brings extensive experience advising colleges and universities across the country on capital planning, debt portfolio management, and liquidity strategy. Echo said the addition expands its institutional relationships and geographic footprint while strengthening its role as an advisor to complex nonprofit organizations.
“Our team has worked together for years, and we are excited to continue serving clients with the same expertise and advocacy they expect,” said Mary Jane Darby, head of Echo’s new higher education and not-for-profit advisory group. “Joining Echo strengthens our practice with the resources of an independent firm focused exclusively on mission-driven institutions. We have known Echo’s principals for more than 20 years and appreciate their client-centered approach, making Echo a natural fit for our team and, most importantly, for our clients.”
Echo said it plans to partner with colleges, universities, and not-for-profit institutions nationwide, applying the same independence, quantitative rigor, and long-term perspective that has defined its work in the healthcare sector as higher education institutions navigate evolving financial and capital challenges.
