WHITPAIN TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that eastbound Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in Whitpain Township will close for pipe maintenance beginning Thursday, September 18.
The closure, which will remain in effect around the clock through Thursday, October 9, will occur at the Narcissa Road intersection. During this period, passenger vehicles will be detoured to Penllyn Blue Bell Pike, Morris Road, and Butler Pike. Truck traffic will be directed to U.S. 202, Route 63 (Welsh Road), and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike).
Westbound Route 73 will remain open, and local access will be maintained. PennDOT advised drivers to allow extra time when traveling near the work zone, noting that delays are likely. All work is weather dependent.
The project will be carried out by Texas Eastern Transmission under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
