DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Dementia Society of America® (DSA) announced that founder Kevin Jameson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer while continuing to serve as volunteer Chairman of the Board. Jameson transitions from his longtime role as volunteer president to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and national outreach.
Since establishing DSA in 2013 with a personal donation from his life savings, Jameson has grown the nonprofit from a small, grassroots effort into a nationally recognized leader in dementia and brain health education. Today, the organization supports more than 100,000 families, individuals, and businesses across North America and has achieved both the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid’s GuideStar™ and a Four-Star rating from Charity Navigator®.
“Kevin’s leadership has been the driving force behind DSA’s growth and reputation as a trusted source of dementia and brain health information and support,” said Blaine Greenfield, a charter member of the DSA Board of Directors. “His entrepreneurial, yet heartfelt approach is expanding resources for families, caregivers, and communities nationwide.”
Under Jameson’s guidance, DSA funds education, research, and non-medical support initiatives that emphasize quality of life through art, music, touch, and movement therapies. The organization also promotes practical brain health awareness through its publication Better Brain Nation® Magazine and various national outreach programs.
“Ending the stigma and taboo surrounding dementia is my life’s work,” Jameson said. “Inspired by my late wife Ginny’s journey with dementia, I remain committed to empowering individuals and families through compassion, understanding, and hope.”
Now entering its second decade, DSA plans to build on its reputation as a trusted national voice in dementia advocacy—focusing on expanding partnerships, increasing community engagement, and continuing to improve access to life-enrichment programs for people living with dementia and their caregivers.
