BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that daytime lane closures will take place next week on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships as part of an ongoing $116 million highway improvement project.
From Monday, October 27, through Friday, October 31, lane closures will be in effect in both directions between Fairhill Avenue and the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. The restrictions will allow crews to perform construction work associated with the widening and reconstruction of this heavily traveled corridor.
Drivers should expect congestion and travel delays throughout the work zone and are encouraged to allow additional time or use alternate routes. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 project, which is reconstructing and widening a three-mile section of U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange, aiming to improve safety and traffic flow for Bucks County commuters.
