CSFP Scholars Steal the Spotlight at Phillies Game Celebration

Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) honored its graduating 8th-grade students with a special event at Citizens Bank Park during Sunday’s Philadelphia Phillies game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The celebration recognized the dedication of students and families pursuing quality education through CSFP’s need-based scholarships.

Highlights of the day included a pre-game reception at Xfinity Live! and the ceremonial first pitch thrown by scholarship graduate Kahlil, symbolizing the achievements of all CSFP scholars. The event drew 500 attendees, including students and their families, and was sponsored by Fulton Bank and Stradley Ronon.

“Education is the foundation upon which our children build their futures, and at CSFP, we’re committed to making quality educational options accessible to Philadelphia families regardless of their financial circumstances or zip code,” said Keisha Jordan, President & CEO of CSFP. “Today’s celebration is about recognizing their persistence and achievements.”

Fulton Bank’s Market President for the Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey Region, Joe Tredinnick, emphasized the value of events like these, stating, “Fulton recognizes the value of Philadelphia students having access to cultural experiences throughout their city…We are proud to partner with CSFP to further educational options and celebrate students as they conclude their foundational education.”

Since its founding in 2001, CSFP has awarded scholarships to more than 90,000 annual scholarships, offering meaningful opportunities to families across Philadelphia neighborhoods. Scholarships enable students to attend various private schools citywide.

The day served as a chance for families from across the city to come together, cheer for the Phillies, and celebrate the achievements of students embarking on their next educational chapter. For many, especially those from under-resourced areas, CSFP scholarships have been a vital step toward creating brighter futures.

CSFP Day at Citizens Bank Park exemplified the organization’s mission to create equitable access to education while fostering connections among scholarship families.
