BLUE BELL, PA — The Columbus Organization has acquired the assets of Agro Transition & Consulting, LLC, a New Jersey-based provider specializing in support services for individuals with special needs as they move from school environments into adult life. The deal broadens Columbus’s footprint in complex-care management and strengthens its presence in a state with growing demand for disability-focused transition services.
Agro, founded in 2016, offers coordination, training and advocacy for families navigating individualized education programs and other transition requirements. Its team participates directly in IEP processes to help ensure continuity of care and access to appropriate services.
The acquisition aligns with Columbus’s nationwide growth strategy and its push to integrate data-driven decision-making with person-centered support models. The company serves individuals with significant medical, developmental and behavioral complexities and has been expanding its reach through acquisitions and service innovations.
“This acquisition represents an exciting step forward in our mission to expand high-quality, complex-care support services for numerous communities in need,” said Dr. Elaine Aguirre, senior vice president of care management and population health. She said bringing Agro into the organization will help increase access to resources and improve outcomes for families who rely on coordinated transition services.
Agro founder Renee Agro said the partnership enhances the company’s longstanding commitment to disability advocacy. She emphasized that the alignment of mission and values was central to the decision, noting that families in New Jersey will gain access to expanded capabilities under Columbus’s broader infrastructure.
Columbus expects its care management team to take on more than 160 additional individuals through the acquisition as it continues investing in services that combine analytics, specialized expertise and community-based support. The company said the deal underscores its goal of setting new standards in outcomes-driven care for complex populations.
