RADNOR, PA — CME Outfitters, a division of KnowFully Learning Group, has been awarded Joint Accreditation with Commendation, the highest level of recognition granted jointly by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The six-year accreditation places CME Outfitters among a select group of education providers recognized for exemplary performance in interprofessional continuing education. The designation is reserved for organizations that meet all core accreditation requirements and multiple commendation criteria, reflecting both educational rigor and measurable impact on healthcare practice.
The accrediting bodies cited CME Outfitters’ leadership in lifelong learning and its role in improving care quality across the healthcare system. More than a quarter of the organization’s educational activities are designed specifically to support collaborative learning across professions, a central requirement of the joint accreditation framework.
Shari Tordoff, executive vice president of KnowFully Medical Education, said the recognition reinforces the organization’s focus on advancing education for interprofessional teams while addressing gaps in health equity and patient care through innovative learning models.
Joint Accreditation with Commendation is awarded to providers that demonstrate sustained compliance and innovation, as well as an ability to influence practice change among healthcare teams. The accreditors praised CME Outfitters for operating as a learning organization and a change agent, pointing to its engagement in system-level quality improvement and its commitment to team-based education.
Scott J. Hershman, senior director of accreditation and joint providership at KnowFully Medical Education, said the designation reflects both the performance of the CME Outfitters team and broader leadership across the organization. He said the recognition serves as a milestone that will drive continued investment in collaborative, high-impact education.
The accreditation strengthens CME Outfitters’ position as a national provider of interprofessional education at a time when healthcare systems are increasingly focused on coordinated, team-based care to improve outcomes and efficiency.
