CleanSpace Expands Leadership and Service Capabilities Amid National Growth

Business

DOYLESTOWN, PA — CleanSpace is accelerating its transformation into a fully integrated cleanroom solutions partner, announcing a series of executive appointments, service expansions, and operational enhancements aimed at strengthening its position across the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Leadership Enhancements to Drive Strategic Growth

In February 2025, Nicholas Vermont was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, tasked with overseeing company-wide operations and advancing process optimization as the firm scales. Brian Bennett, previously Vice President of Sales, was elevated to Executive Vice President, expanding his role to lead CleanSpace’s commercial strategy and long-term market positioning.

In April, the company appointed Robert Griffith as Chief Strategy Officer and Mike Wieffering as Vice President of the CleanShield Division. Griffith, a veteran with over 30 years in sterile pharmaceutical facility management, will drive strategic growth initiatives for CleanShield. Wieffering, who brings four decades of expertise in cleanroom project delivery and mechanical systems—including leadership roles at Johnson Controls—will oversee operational execution, compliance, and client service delivery.

Expanding CleanShield’s National Footprint

As part of its broader growth strategy, CleanSpace launched a new Ferndale, Michigan office to serve as the national headquarters for CleanShield services. The facility includes a client showroom and technical workshop space, supporting the company’s expanded post-construction service offerings, including:

  • Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV)
  • Maintenance programs and emergency response
  • Technical documentation and compliance support
  • Workforce development and training programs

By centralizing CleanShield operations, CleanSpace is positioning itself to deliver faster, more efficient service across the country while bridging the gap between construction turnover and GMP readiness.

Advancing Preconstruction Expertise

In July 2025, Julie Tareco was appointed Vice President of Preconstruction to enhance CleanSpace’s capabilities in the earliest phases of project delivery. Bringing 28 years of experience in MEP systems, commissioning, and infrastructure planning, Tareco will lead estimating, scope development, and value engineering initiatives to ensure clarity and precision from project inception.

Strategic Outlook

President Glenn VandeGrift framed these developments as part of CleanSpace’s evolution into a partner that supports clients “from concept to commercialization.” With an aligned leadership team, an expanded service footprint, and enhanced technical expertise, the company aims to deliver integrated solutions that ensure operational readiness and compliance for its clients.

“CleanSpace’s growth is more than operational,” VandeGrift said. “With our strengthened leadership team, deeper service offering, and expanded footprint, we’re delivering not just facilities—but commercialization certainty.”

With these strategic moves, CleanSpace is positioning itself as a national leader in cleanroom design, construction, and post-construction services, setting the stage for continued expansion and deeper client partnerships.
