PHILADELPHIA, PA — Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR) and Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA) announced a multi-year, exclusive agreement with T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) to provide mobile services to business customers beginning in 2026. The deal leverages T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G network through a new Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) arrangement, marking a major expansion of the cable giants’ wireless strategies in the business segment.
The partnership is designed to enhance Comcast Business Mobile and Spectrum Mobile for Business, the respective wireless brands operated by Comcast and Charter. By tapping into T-Mobile’s network infrastructure, both companies aim to strengthen their converged connectivity offerings for small and mid-sized businesses across the country.
“This is truly a win-win,” said Omar Tazi, EVP and Chief Product and Digital Officer at T-Mobile. “Charter and Comcast Business customers are benefitting from T-Mobile’s advanced network, and T-Mobile gains incremental value from the unique business segment that our partners serve today with broadband.”
Charter and Comcast have collectively built a growing presence in wireless since launching their mobile businesses in 2017 and 2018, now boasting more than 18 million active lines across residential and business customers. The companies said the new deal will specifically support future growth in the commercial space while maintaining their existing MVNO agreements for residential and current business accounts.
Edward Zimmermann, President of Comcast Business, called the partnership “capital-light” and emphasized its role in strengthening Comcast’s wireless value proposition by uniting its high-speed internet infrastructure with premium mobile capabilities.
Danny Bowman, EVP of Product at Charter, added that the new MVNO deal enables the company to “rapidly and cost-effectively” enhance its mobile service offerings for business clients by combining its broadband and WiFi networks with T-Mobile’s 5G infrastructure.
The announcement reinforces both cable companies’ strategy of converging wireline and wireless technologies, including the use of their expansive WiFi footprints, private 5G networks operating on CBRS spectrum, and multiple MVNO partnerships to deliver seamless mobile experiences.
T-Mobile, a long-standing player in the MVNO market, brings more than two decades of experience to the table, further strengthening the operational backbone of this expanded wireless effort.
While specific financial terms were not disclosed, the deal marks a notable move in the competitive telecom landscape, signaling intensified efforts by Charter and Comcast to scale their enterprise wireless business and directly challenge incumbent mobile carriers.
