CHADDS FORD TWP, PA — Midday commuters and local drivers should prepare for extended lane restrictions along a busy stretch of U.S. 1 as PennDOT begins a multi-week safety improvement project.
From February 23 through March 31, weekday lane closures will occur in both directions on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Creek Road and Ring Road from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Crews will conduct curb demolition, roadway milling, ADA ramp installation, and related utility work.
In addition, a single-day lane closure is scheduled Wednesday, February 25, on Creek Road between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Upper Bank Drive during the same daytime hours.
No formal detours are posted, but motorists should expect backups, particularly during late-morning and early-afternoon travel. Plan extra time if your route includes the U.S. 1 corridor and remain alert for construction crews and changing traffic patterns.
All work is weather dependent and may shift if conditions require.
