CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Cencora is expanding its third-party logistics network across the United States and Europe as the company positions itself to support rising demand for specialty pharmaceutical distribution and end-to-end supply chain management.
The company said it is enhancing its pan-European footprint through the addition of NextPharma Logistics, a healthcare logistics provider with operations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Cencora also plans to open a 3PL facility in Italy in 2026, complementing recent expansions in France, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
In the United States, Cencora will build a 500,000-square-foot logistics facility in Texas, slated to open in 2028. The automated site will expand the company’s controlled-temperature, refrigerated, frozen, and cryogenic storage capabilities. Cencora has already tripled its ultra-low and cryogenic capacity across its domestic network to serve the growing number of advanced therapies.
“Our customers trust us to serve as an extension of their operations,” said Chris Williams, senior vice president and president of Alloga Europe & ICS. He said the company’s investments are aimed at improving support for complex global programs and product launches requiring specialized logistics and regulatory compliance.
NextPharma brings integrated services such as distribution, serialization, quality assurance, and temperature-controlled storage through Good Distribution Practice-compliant facilities. Cencora is also expanding cold chain infrastructure in Europe, including a specialty unit equipped with cryogenic technology in the Netherlands and additional capacity in France.
Alina Chesnokova, vice president of global 3PL commercialization, said pharmaceutical companies increasingly seek partners capable of supporting multiple markets with coordinated logistics. She noted that Cencora’s combined U.S. and European enhancements are designed to help clients scale into new regions while maintaining product integrity from production through delivery.
Cencora now operates a global logistics network intended to support pharmaceutical distribution from clinical trial stages through commercialization, including supply chain solutions tailored to cell and gene therapy products.
