NORTH EAST, MD — The cheers may have faded from the court and the field, but the legacy lives on.
Cecil College Athletics is preparing to honor seven standout members of its community during the 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, a celebration dedicated to the athletes and leaders who helped shape the college’s proud sports tradition. The evening promises a heartfelt gathering of former teammates, coaches, family members, and supporters — all coming together to recognize excellence that continues to inspire today’s Seahawks.
This year’s Hall of Fame class spans decades and multiple programs. The 2026 inductees include Victor Akinyanju and Craig Winder from men’s basketball; Jeff Bonsall and Jason Rust from baseball; Alexis Stubblefield from women’s basketball; Brittanie (Walter) Krauss, who competed in women’s soccer and softball; and longtime Athletic Trainer Sean Grugan, whose years of service supported countless student-athletes.
The Cecil College Athletics Hall of Fame was established to recognize individuals who, through participation, support, or service, have made outstanding contributions to the college’s athletic programs. The selection committee — made up of alumni, coaches, and staff — carefully chooses honorees whose achievements reflect both competitive success and lasting impact on the campus community.
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend the celebration. Whether you’re an alum reconnecting with teammates, a current student cheering on Cecil’s history, or a community supporter of local athletics, the evening offers an opportunity to celebrate the college’s enduring spirit.
