NORTH EAST, MDCecil College honored 104 students with induction into the Alpha Alpha Theta (AAT) Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society during a ceremony held September 24. The event also marked the 51st anniversary of the AAT Chapter, established in 1974.

The induction highlights the academic excellence of Cecil’s students, each of whom achieved a minimum 3.5 grade point average to qualify for membership in PTK, the largest honor society in American higher education. PTK recognizes and encourages achievement among two-year college students while offering leadership, service, and fellowship opportunities.

“We are celebrating the achievements of our newest members and the opportunities that come with being a member of this international honor society,” said AAT Chapter President Ashley Boyd. “Our chapter is focused on scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship, and as a member you will have an opportunity to connect with others who will help you enhance your leadership skills”.

Cecil’s AAT Chapter continues to hold PTK’s prestigious Five-Star Level status, a recognition of its strong commitment to scholarship and community engagement.

This year’s inductees represent a wide range of academic programs, from healthcare and science to the arts and business. Their achievements add to the legacy of the AAT Chapter, which for more than five decades has celebrated academic excellence while preparing students for continued success.
