CHARLESTOWN, MD — Cecil County’s most stylish fundraising tradition is back. The Cecil College Foundation will host its annual Little Black Dress event on Thursday, September 18, bringing women together for an evening of fashion, entertainment, and philanthropy at the waterfront Wellwood Restaurant in Charlestown.
Tailored for women aged 21 and over, this year’s event comes with a country-inspired theme, blending southern charm with the signature elegance the gathering is known for. Proceeds from the night will go toward scholarships that support local students pursuing their academic goals through Cecil College.
The $80 ticket grants access to a full evening of entertainment, including signature cocktails, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and live music from a DJ. Attendees can also enjoy spa services, hair extension stations, raffles, and a photo booth experience. The event regularly sells out, drawing a crowd of supporters looking to have fun while making a difference.
“Every ticket sold helps a student take one step closer to their dream,” said Karen Uricoli, Executive Director of the Cecil College Foundation. “It’s a night of fun with a purpose — uplifting our community and creating pathways to a better future.”
Corporate sponsors such as PNC Bank, Upper Shore Regional Council, and APGFCU have already signed on, and additional sponsorship opportunities remain available.
With limited tickets and growing interest, the Foundation expects another sold-out success. All funds raised will go directly toward educational scholarships, reinforcing the college’s mission to expand access and opportunity for students in the region.
