NORTH EAST, MDCecil College has recognized the achievements of its second Accelerated Nursing Program cohort, honoring the Class of 2025 during a pinning ceremony held on August 15 at the Technology Center on the North East Campus.

The 13-month accelerated program provides a condensed pathway for individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree, or significant academic credits, enabling them to pursue licensure as Registered Nurses (RNs). Graduates of this year’s class earned an Associate of Science in Nursing, making them eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), which qualifies them for licensure in Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

Addressing a Workforce Need

The program was established in response to the nationwide nursing shortage, with the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration estimating a gap of more than 78,000 full-time RNs by 2026. By offering a streamlined curriculum, Cecil College seeks to prepare students to enter the workforce quickly while maintaining rigorous professional standards.
