PHILADELPHIA, PA — Carpenter Technology Corporation (NYSE: CRS) announced this week that its Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) designation has been reclassified to 20101010 – Aerospace & Defense, effective September 30, 2025. The update was made by MSCI Inc. and S&P Dow Jones Indices.
The change aligns Carpenter Technology more directly with its core markets, where advanced alloys play a critical role in commercial aerospace and defense applications. The company has steadily increased its concentration in these sectors, making the reclassification a formal recognition of its strategic focus.
