Caregiver Choir Aims for Holiday Hit With New Charity Cover of ‘Angels’

BRYN MAWR, PAVisiting Angels announced that its United Kingdom branch has joined with caregivers from across the region to release a charity recording of Robbie Williams’ 1990s hit “Angels,” aiming to turn the beloved ballad into a unifying anthem for caregivers worldwide.

The project brings together nine caregivers representing Visiting Angels and several other UK care organizations. Performing as the HomeCare’s Got Talent Choir, the group recorded the single at London’s famed Abbey Road Studios, a landmark associated with artists ranging from The Beatles to Pink Floyd. The studio also serves as the setting for the single’s music video, which offers behind-the-scenes footage of the recording session.

The charity track includes contributions from The Voice musician Kuill and Jay Aston of the pop group Bucks Fizz. Dan Archer, CEO of Visiting Angels UK and founder of HomeCare’s Got Talent, said the idea grew out of this year’s talent competition finale. He said the group wanted to create a holiday hit that reflects the day-to-day dedication of caregivers.

Participants traveled from across the United Kingdom and represented brands including Caremark, Home Instead, Voyage Care, Mochridhe, Vitality Care, and Calon Lan Community Care. The group hopes the charity single will outperform the original song’s U.S. chart performance and reach the No. 1 spot during the holiday season.
