Bold New Workwear Collaboration Promises Cooler Comfort for Women in 2026

The LYCRA Company

WILMINGTON, DE — The LYCRA Company has partnered with Dovetail Workwear to introduce the COOLSWAP™ capsule collection, a Spring 2026 launch aimed at redefining performance apparel for women who work in demanding environments.

A preview of the line is available at The LYCRA Company’s booth during the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland, Oregon, where attendees can see the companies’ latest attempt to merge comfort, durability, and sustainability into a single fabric platform.

Dovetail Workwear, known for its community-driven development process, built the new collection around one of its most frequent customer requests: lightweight workwear that holds up under tough conditions without overheating. The COOLSWAP™ fabric, produced with LYCRA® EcoMade fiber, is designed to answer that challenge with quick-drying capability, flexible stretch, and a noticeably lighter feel. The fiber incorporates renewable plant-based materials and recycled PET bottles, aligning the line with rising market expectations for environmentally conscious products.

The fabric itself was co-developed with Sapphire Finishing Mills of Pakistan, one of the region’s largest textile manufacturers. Sapphire’s technical expertise helped translate performance specifications into a woven fabric capable of meeting the needs of women whose work demands resilience and mobility.

Acting as a connector across textile, manufacturing, and retail channels, The LYCRA Company coordinated the collaboration between Sapphire and Dovetail Workwear, reflecting its broader push toward integrated supply-chain innovation.

“Our goal is to equip women with workwear that performs as hard as they do,” said Sara DeLuca, co-founder of Dovetail Workwear. She noted that customers routinely report a lack of lightweight yet durable options. The joint project, she said, allowed the company “to go lighter than ever before without sacrificing durability.”

The initial five-piece COOLSWAP™ collection will feature two work pant designs, cargo skorts, shorts, and a long-sleeved work shirt. Both companies plan a coordinated marketing effort in Spring 2026 to introduce the line to consumers.

“Women deserve apparel that feels great no matter how tough the job,” said Ebru Ozaydin, global product director for denim, wovens, and ready-to-wear at The LYCRA Company. She emphasized that the partnership brings together technical innovation and on-the-ground insight from a brand that “truly understands its customers.”

The collaboration arrives as performance workwear continues to expand beyond traditional industrial categories, driven by both functional requirements and rising consumer expectations for sustainability.
