Boiron Launches Oscillococcinum Pronunciation Contest

Boiron USA

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — Boiron USA announced a national contest tied to its Oscillococcinum flu medicine, inviting consumers to share how they pronounce the product’s name for a chance to win $5,000 as flu activity remains elevated nationwide.

The company said it will match the $5,000 prize with a donation to One Tree Planted, a nonprofit focused on global reforestation.

The initiative comes as flu cases reach seasonal highs, according to the company, and is intended to increase engagement with the brand during peak flu season.

“Having options like Oscillococcinum on hand allows individuals to respond quickly when symptoms such as body aches, fatigue, or chills begin,” said Dr. Ken Redcross, a board-certified internal medicine physician.

Kate Hill, director of marketing at Boiron, said the campaign is designed to engage consumers while reinforcing product awareness. “This campaign is about meeting consumers where they are, having a little fun, and giving back,” Hill said.

Boiron said Oscillococcinum is used to relieve flu-like symptoms, including body aches, headache, fever, chills and fatigue, though the product’s labeled uses have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The contest is open to legal U.S. residents age 18 and older, with age exceptions in Alabama, Nebraska and Mississippi. Entries will be accepted through 11:59:59 p.m. ET on March 31, 2026, according to the company.
