BLOCS Expands Role in Scholarship Support for Diocese of Allentown

BLOCS (Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools)

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) has officially taken over the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program for the Diocese of Allentown, marking a significant expansion in its mission to enhance educational opportunities across Pennsylvania. Having supported schools and students in the Diocese of Allentown for years, BLOCS will now manage all aspects of the program previously administered by the Eastern Pennsylvania Scholarship Foundation (EPSF).

The transition aims to strengthen funding for Catholic schools within the Diocese of Allentown, which serves students in the Lehigh Valley region and beyond. This move is expected to increase scholarship opportunities for families and support donor engagement.

“We are thrilled to have Amy join BLOCS, and we look forward to bringing our full team and dedicated services to the donors and schools in the Diocese of Allentown and their broad region,” said Rob Delany, CEO of BLOCS. “We have enjoyed a collaborative relationship with Amy and are grateful for the opportunity to continue our work to increase the amount of scholarships for our children.”

Key Leadership Addition

To ensure a smooth transition, BLOCS has welcomed Amy Impellizzeri to its team. Formerly the Director of Scholarships for the Diocese of Allentown, Impellizzeri played a pivotal role in championing the EITC program through EPSF. Her expertise and deep understanding of the program are expected to further enhance BLOCS’ efforts in delivering impactful educational funding.

A Boost for Catholic Education

The addition of the Diocese of Allentown into the BLOCS system is anticipated to significantly amplify funding for Catholic schools. Dr. Michael St. Pierre, Superintendent of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Allentown, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “Diocese of Allentown schools are filled with potential. We believe that our inclusion in the BLOCS system will allow us to grow our funding for schools exponentially.”

The collaboration reaffirms BLOCS’ commitment to providing robust scholarship support across the region. With a proven track record of fostering educational advancement, BLOCS is positioned to drive meaningful change for students and schools alike.
