Blackbird Health Expands Footprint With New Delaware County Clinic Amid Rising Youth Demand

Blackbird Health

MEDIA, PABlackbird Health expanded its presence in Delaware County with the opening of a new in-person clinic in Media, aiming to address mounting demand for youth mental health services across Pennsylvania. The clinic began welcoming patients on December 1 through virtual intake and in-office appointments.

Located at 1023 E. Baltimore Pike, the new site advances Blackbird’s strategy of bringing timely, evidence-based care to communities where access remains limited. Demand for youth mental health services has surged in recent years, and families frequently face lengthy wait times for evaluations, therapy, and psychiatric support.

Blackbird operates on a virtual-first, whole-child model that integrates diagnostic assessments, therapy, psychiatry, and autism evaluations. The Media clinic extends that model by pairing telehealth flexibility with local, in-person care, giving families faster access to services that often take weeks or months to secure elsewhere. The company said most families can connect with a clinician within days, compared with the national average wait of 7.5 weeks.

The organization treats conditions including anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and depression, with an emphasis on early intervention and care continuity. Pediatricians, schools, and families increasingly rely on providers like Blackbird as demand continues to outpace traditional clinical capacity.

Nicole Garber, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Blackbird Health, said the new location allows the organization to deliver its comprehensive care model directly into a community where youth mental health needs have intensified. She cited rising academic and social pressures since the pandemic as key contributors to the growing prevalence of anxiety and depression among children and teens.

Blackbird said the Media clinic will serve as an important regional resource, supporting families across Delaware County and neighboring communities as they seek accessible, high-quality mental health care for children, adolescents, and young adults.
