PHILADELPHIA, PA — Tuxedos, sequins, aerial acrobatics and a healthy dose of nostalgia will collide on Valentine’s Day as the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts hosts its first-ever Adult Circus Prom, reimagining a classic rite of passage with big-top spectacle and grown-up freedom.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at PSCA’s Circus Campus, an atmospheric former church sanctuary turned performance and training space. Designed for adults 21 and older, the prom invites guests who missed their high school dance, want a do-over, or simply want to celebrate with flair to step onto a dance floor unlike any other in the city.
Aerial apparatuses will hang overhead as circus artists move through the space, delivering short, ambient performances woven between songs from a live DJ spinning prom favorites from the 1970s through today. Organizers say the goal is to blur past and present, mixing teenage awkwardness with adult confidence and playful spectacle.
Highlights of the evening include an open dance floor beneath circus rigging, a champagne pour performed by an aerial artist suspended above the crowd, DIY origami corsage and boutonniere stations, big-top-themed photo opportunities, and keepsake photos printed on the spot. A cash bar featuring beer and soda will be provided by Tired Hands Brewing Company.
For parents and caregivers, the night offers a rare twist: a supervised circus-themed childcare space downstairs for children ages 5 and up, allowing adults to enjoy the prom while kids play, socialize and watch a movie in a separate area.
Tickets are priced at $35 per individual or $60 per couple, with childcare available for an additional fee. Tickets are on sale now at https://phillycircus.com/upcoming-shows-events/.
PSCA Executive Director Kitsie O’Neill said the event reflects the school’s inclusive spirit and commitment to accessibility.
“Adult Circus Prom is a night to laugh, connect and give yourself permission to try something new,” O’Neill said. “There’s no pressure and no perfection. It’s especially meaningful for people who didn’t feel comfortable attending prom the first time around, and we want it to be a welcoming space for everyone.”
Organizers say guests are encouraged to attend solo, with friends or with a partner, and to dress to impress or express, whether that means retro glam, up-cycled prom wear or modern elegance.
The evening will take place at 6452 Greene Street in Philadelphia, offering what PSCA describes as a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s night where nostalgia, circus artistry and celebration meet under one roof.
