PHILADELPHIA, PA — Kiddie Academy of Hilltown has a new owner at the helm as longtime multi-unit franchise operator Dwight Wilkinson takes over the Perkasie early learning center following the previous owner’s retirement.
Wilkinson, who has operated Kiddie Academy locations in Horsham and Montgomeryville for more than 20 years, said the acquisition reflects his commitment to creating enriching early childhood environments that inspire curiosity and lifelong learning.
“I’ve always been passionate about working with children,” Wilkinson said. “There’s no better feeling than knowing you’re helping kids grow and develop and that you’re giving them a good start in life.” He added that the recent full-circle moment of hiring one of his former students—now an aspiring early childhood educator—reflects the community impact these centers can have over generations.
One of Wilkinson’s first major initiatives is steering Kiddie Academy of Hilltown through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation process, an intensive quality benchmark he previously achieved at his other two academies. NAEYC accreditation has served as the leading national standard for early learning excellence for more than three decades, and internal research from Kiddie Academy shows that 76% of parents actively consider accredited centers when seeking childcare.
Located at 1000 East Walnut Street in Perkasie, the Hilltown Academy is licensed for 145 children, staffed by 16 educators, and features nine classrooms and a large outdoor play area.
Wilkinson said his goal is to build on the foundation already in place while continuing to strengthen educational quality, staff development, and community connections.
