GORDONVILLE, PA — Belmont Solar, a local Gordonville, Pennsylvania company, was recognized in three industry lists this year that celebrate the top solar contractors across the industry. Featured at #37 in the 2025 Top Pennsylvania Solar Contractors, #157 in the 2025 Top Residential Solar Contractors, and #361 in the 2025 Top Solar Contractors, Belmont Solar is excited to continue to educate its community about the benefits of solar.
The lists, published by Solar Power World, a leading solar publication that covers solar technology, development, and installation, include hundreds of solar contractors and developers across the U.S. each year.
Belmont Solar was founded in 2002 when owner Ben Zook combined solar panels with batteries to create an off-grid power supply. An experienced electrician who is certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), Zook and Belmont Solar have since grown to provide clean power to families across the Mid-Atlantic region.
“[The recognition] is one more indication that we are actively trying… and mostly succeeding in sharing the joy of solar power,” said Ben Zook, Owner and NABCEP Certified Master Electrician at Belmont Solar. As Belmont Solar grows and is recognized accordingly, the company remains guided by three core values: workmanship, trust, and friendship. Belmont Solar’s dedication to the people and community it serves is truly what sets it apart.
As the end of the year approaches, Belmont Solar and the solar industry face a major change: the expiration of the Residential Federal Solar Tax Credit. Signed into law earlier this year, H.R.1, or the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, eliminates the 30% federal tax credit for residential solar after December 31.
“It’s sometimes briefly disheartening to see how much pushback there can be against the concept of solar power. But then it’s also very encouraging to see the people that love it. That mostly occurs after they took the courageous step to give it a fair try.”
As Belmont Solar and the rest of the country move into 2026, Belmont Solar remains committed to helping homeowners navigate a changing energy landscape. While the expiration of the Residential Federal Solar Tax Credit presents new challenges, the company continues to focus on education and quality installation. No matter what, Belmont Solar believes that informed decision-making and trusted local expertise are more important than ever as homeowners consider solar.
“It means a lot when people see what solar can do, but there are still so many people who have no idea yet,” said Zook.
