PHILADELPHIA, PA — Dr. Lei Qiao of Axalta Coating Systems (NYSE: AXTA) has been honored as one of the 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News. The award recognizes influential female leaders who drive significant advancements and decision-making in the automotive sector.
Dr. Qiao is currently at the helm of Axalta’s Mobility technology team, operating from the company’s Global Innovation Center in Philadelphia. This state-of-the-art facility is one of the largest coatings research and development hubs in the region. Her global responsibilities include spearheading technology growth initiatives within Axalta’s Mobility business unit.
A distinguished career spanning continents underscores Dr. Qiao’s contributions to innovation and leadership. Before her current role, she guided Axalta’s Research and Development team and managed the company’s regional Mobility technology operations in China. She holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Pennsylvania, complemented by an Executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
